CIT Keeps Cisco's Networking Equipment Import Row Alive

Law360, New York (November 18, 2011, 6:41 PM EST) -- The U.S. Court of International Trade on Friday denied the federal government's bid to have dismissed a suit filed by Cisco Systems Inc. alleging U.S. Customs and Border Protection misclassified the company's networking equipment imports, leading to unnecessary tariffs.

The trade court rejected the government's argument that Cisco's protests lodged with Customs were too vague in describing the networking components at issue and therefore invalid, saying the agency was perfectly informed as to just what Cisco was importing.
