Conn. Newspaper Settles Rival's Plagiarism Suit

Law360, New York (November 21, 2011, 2:15 PM EST) -- The Hartford Courant Co. on Friday settled a plagiarism suit brought by rival Journal Publishing Co Inc. in Connecticut federal court that alleged the Tribune Co.-owned Courant ripped off several local news articles from the Journal Inquirer.

U.S. District Judge Robert N. Chatigny ordered the case dismissed without prejudice and gave the parties until Dec. 18 to file stipulations of dismissal, according to the order.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
