Gov't IT Contracts Need Communication, Skilled Staff: GAO

Law360, New York (November 21, 2011, 8:03 PM EST) -- Despite the federal government's long list of failed information technology acquisitions, there have been some heartening successes, the U.S. Government Accountability Office said in a report released Monday that points to nine factors of a successful IT project.

Frequent communication with stakeholders, strong leadership and skilled staff are some of the factors present in the seven successful acquisitions GAO identified in its report.
