DOJ Wants More Time To Review Bus Merger

Law360, New York (July 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has asked FirstGroup PLC and Laidlaw International Inc. for additional time to review their proposed $3.6 billion merger.

The two companies said separately Friday that they would have submitted their certified compliance by the end of the day. Under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act, the DOJ's Antitrust Division would have to complete its review within 30 days of the submission.
