Puerto Rico Telecom Sues Rival Over Cable Monopoly

Law360, New York (November 22, 2011, 7:44 PM EST) -- Puerto Rico Telephone Co. brought an antitrust suit on Tuesday accusing rival San Juan Cable LLC of violating the Sherman Act by trying to block PRTC’s entrance into the cable television market.

In a complaint filed in Puerto Rico federal court, PRTC, a division of telecom company Claro, alleges that San Juan Cable, better known as OneLink, has pursued a baseless litigation strategy for over four years to stop its rival from gaining a foothold into the cable market.
