US Duties May Spur Chinese Solar Cos. To Move Operations

Law360, San Diego (November 23, 2011, 10:05 PM EST) -- China-based firms JA Solar Holdings Co. Ltd. and LDK Solar Co. Ltd. said Tuesday that they may look at moving some manufacturing facilities to other countries if the U.S. places duties on solar products from China, according to conference calls with analysts.

JA Solar CEO Fang Peng said the anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations into crystalline silicon solar cells by the U.S. Department of Commerce have created uncertainty and have the potential to not just hurt the company, but also its U.S.-based suppliers and customers....
