Google Asks EU To Approve $12.5B Motorola Buy

Law360, New York (November 28, 2011, 11:55 AM EST) -- Google Inc. officially notified the European Commission of its $12.5 billion deal to buy Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. on Friday, while the company continues to face U.S. regulators' antitrust scrutiny of the transaction.

Though the purchase, announced in mid-August, has been under official review by the U.S. Department of Justice for months, the companies had not filed formal notice of the transaction in the European Union.
