Legal Media Cos. Will Take 'BigLaw' Mark Fight To USPTO

Law360, New York (November 29, 2011, 5:31 PM EST) -- Legal blog Lawyerist Media LLC and online publisher PeerViews Inc. agreed Tuesday to end Lawyerist’s suit seeking to cancel PeerViews' trademark registrations of the terms “BigLaw” and “SmallLaw,” allowing Lawyerist to make its case to federal trademark officials instead.

According to a joint stipulation dismissing the suit from Minnesota federal court with prejudice, the parties will drop any trademark infringement claims arising from PeerViews' registrations and Lawyerist will petition the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board to cancel the "BigLaw" and "SmallLaw"...
