Catheter Maker Claims Rivals Spread False Rumors

Law360, New York (July 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Catheter maker Rochester Medical Corp. has filed an amended complaint in its antitrust lawsuit against rival medical supply manufacturers and group purchasers, adding claims that the remaining two defendants disparaged the company and its products.

As it gears up for jury selection next month, Rochester on Friday alleged that in addition to conspiring to grab and hold on to their monopoly of the $150 million catheter market, its competitors suggested to Rochester's clients that its catheters could be ineffective and even harmful.
