Halliburton Wants BP To Cover Deepwater Spill Claims

Law360, New York (December 1, 2011, 2:13 PM EST) -- Halliburton Energy Services Inc. on Wednesday asked the court handling the multidistrict litigation over the Deepwater Horizon oil spill to force BP PLC to indemnify it for all pollution and contamination claims related to the blowout that caused the disaster.

Halliburton argued in a motion that its offshore drilling contract with BP obligated the oil giant to cover Halliburton for nearly all claims stemming from the spill.
