Ryanair To Sue EC Over Subsidies

Law360, New York (July 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Though the European Commission rejected its proposed merger with Aer Lingus, Ryanair is not giving up without a fight. The Irish carrier has said it will sue the EC over allegedly offering illegal subsidies to other European airlines.

Ryanair said on Tuesday that it will file a suit against the Commission in Europe's Court of First Instance for allegedly failing to investigate state aid complaints involving rival carriers, including Air France, Lufthansa, Alitalia and Olympic Airways.
