Airbus Subsidies Axed, EU Says

Law360, New York (December 1, 2011, 5:10 PM EST) -- The European Union has eliminated all the subsidies to Airbus SAS that the World Trade Organization ruled earlier this year violated trade rules, the bloc announced Thursday, though the U.S. said it would closely review the steps taken by the EU.

The WTO Appellate Body concluded in April that aid provided to Airbus by France, Germany, Spain and the U.K. to launch new models of aircraft violated WTO rules. The trade body gave the EU six months to withdraw the subsidies, and that deadline passed Thursday....
