Eon Challenges Pfizer's Patents For Zithromax

Law360 (January 24, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Generic drug maker Eon Labs, Inc. has sued Pfizer, Inc. in New York federal court, seeking a declaratory judgment that a planned generic version of the antibiotic Zithromax does not infringe Pfizer’s patent for the drug.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District for the Southern District of New York, argues that Eon’s version of the drug uses a different compound and is manufactured using a different method.
