Germany Cracks Down On Piracy Ring

Law360, New York (November 10, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- In its first country-wide sweep, Germany's federal police raided more than 46 homes and arrested at least nine people in connection with an investigation into a software piracy ring, the International Herald Tribune reported in its Tuesday edition.

The federal police cooperated with local law enforcement in the raid, the newspaper reported. It was the first time the federal police engaged in a country-wide campaign to uproot organized software piracy.
