Northwestern Mutual Loan Kick-Starts $200M DC Project

Law360, New York (December 6, 2011, 3:23 PM EST) -- Financing from Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co.'s real estate investment arm will allow two Washington developers to break ground next month on a $200 million condominium and retail project that has been in the works since 2004, the parties announced Tuesday.

Northwestern Mutual Real Estate Investments LLC will make a construction loan and take an undisclosed ownership investment in 250 new residential units and 40,000 square feet of retail space in downtown Bethesda, Md.
