China Warns US To Avoid Protectionism Over Solar Panels

Law360, New York (December 6, 2011, 6:56 PM EST) -- Chinese officials said Tuesday that the U.S. risked hurting the countries' trade relations if it caved to protectionist interests in investigating whether China's solar energy sector has received illegal subsidies and dumped its products in the U.S.

Four days after the U.S. International Trade Commission voted to move ahead with an investigation into the matter, China's Ministry of Commerce said that the decision disregarded the defenses raised by Chinese manufacturers as well as "strong opposition" from U.S. industry and others.
