Residents Want Town To Rethink Grand Canyon Project

Law360, New York (December 7, 2011, 2:40 PM EST) -- Residents of a small town bordering Grand Canyon National Park plan to petition the town council to reconsider the environmental effects of a more than 2 million-square-foot development that would include hotels, retail space and hundreds of homes, an attorney for some of the petitioners said Wednesday.

Opponents plan to ask the Tusayan, Ariz., town council in the next few weeks for a referendum on the Nov. 2 approval of the development and to halt the project until they've determined how it will affect the community...
