SEC Actions Could Be Looming For HCP Head Falcone

Law360, New York (December 9, 2011, 3:33 PM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has warned hedge fund manager Philip A. Falcone that it might bring enforcement actions against him and his investment firm Harbinger Capital Partners LLC for potential securities violations, according to a regulatory filing Friday.

HCP, Falcone and associates received Wells notices from SEC staff Thursday indicating they intend to recommend, or are considering recommending, that the regulator hit them with civil injunctive actions over alleged violations of anti-fraud provisions in federal securities laws, according to a filing in the SEC...
