Southern Union Investors OK $9B Merger Amid Pall Of Suit

Law360, New York (December 9, 2011, 6:19 PM EST) -- Southern Union Co.'s shareholders have approved its proposed $9.4 billion merger with Energy Transfer Equity LP, Southern Union announced Friday, a boost for a transaction that faces a securities action from a disgruntled Energy Transfer shareholder.

About 98 percent of the voting shares at a special meeting supported the deal between the natural gas companies, Southern Union said.
