London Stock Exchange Buys Remaining Half Of FTSE

Law360, New York (December 12, 2011, 8:51 PM EST) -- The London Stock Exchange Group will diversify its business by acquiring full ownership of stock market index provider FTSE International Ltd., buying the 50 percent it does not already own for £450 million ($702 million) from education company Pearson PLC, the companies announced Monday.

LSE will expand in the financial data market with full ownership of FTSE, which publishes financial gauges including the U.K.’s benchmark FTSE 100 Index.
