Indirect Ice Purchasers Can't Add MDL Plaintiffs: Judge

Law360, New York (December 13, 2011, 6:18 PM EST) -- A Michigan federal judge on Monday ruled that indirect purchasers in multidistrict litigation accusing Reddy Ice Corp., Arctic Glacier Inc. and The Home City Ice Co. of fixing packaged ice prices cannot revive previously dismissed state law claims by adding new plaintiffs.

In March, U.S. District Judge Paul D. Borman trimmed several state law claims from an earlier version of the indirect purchasers' consolidated class action complaint, finding the plaintiffs could not assert claims under laws of states in which no plaintiffs resided or had sustained...
