NewPage Creditors Rebid For Pricey Consultants

Law360, New York (December 12, 2011, 8:53 PM EST) -- Bankrupt paper company NewPage Corp.'s unsecured creditors last week asked a judge to reconsider their request to hire advisory firm Alvarez & Marsal North America LLC and investment bankers Moelis & Co. to advise in the restructuring, setting off a flurry of objections scheduled to be heard Tuesday.

The creditors told U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Gross on Dec. 6 that they believed he had erred in his Dec. 1 ruling that they had little hope of recovering the money to afford the companies' costly consultation services....
