Baxter Scoops Up Synovis For $325M

Law360, New York (December 13, 2011, 5:49 PM EST) -- Health care giant Baxter International Inc. has struck a deal to acquire medical device manufacturer Synovis Life Technologies Inc. for $325 million as it seeks to expand its regenerative medicine and biosurgery business, Baxter announced Tuesday.

Baxter said the acquisition of Synovis, which makes biological and mechanical products for soft tissue repair, will complement its business, which already includes a number of devices and biological products for hemostasis, tissue sealing and adherence.
