SEC Settles With Ex-Ahold Exec Over Accounting Fraud

Law360, New York (December 13, 2011, 7:41 PM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday announced a settlement with a convicted former executive of a onetime Royal Ahold NV subsidiary for his role in an $800 million scheme to overstate the operating income of the company.

U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Blake entered final judgment against Mark Kaiser, the former executive vice president of purchasing and chief marketing officer of Royal Ahold subsidiary U.S. Foodservice Inc., just one week after Kaiser received a 46-month prison sentence in a parallel criminal proceeding.
