New Century Examiner Looks To Probe KPMG

Law360 (July 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The examiner appointed to New Century Financial Corp.’s Chapter 11 proceedings on Wednesday asked the bankruptcy court to approve his examination of KPMG LLP, New Century’s external auditor.

Michael J. Missal, who was appointed examiner by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware in June, said the court’s approval of his investigation will allow him to obtain all documents and information relating to services KPMG provided to New Century, as well as insight into the subprime lender’s activities leading up to its bankruptcy....
