'Final Fantasy' Maker Warns Gamers Of Data Hack

Law360, New York (December 15, 2011, 1:04 PM EST) -- The developer of the hit video game series “Final Fantasy” said Tuesday that a server containing the personal information of U.S. and Japanese users may have been hacked.

Data belonging to a reported 1.8 million Square Enix Co. Ltd. customers — 1 million Japanese users and 800,000 North American users — may have been accessed by an unauthorized party, according to AFP. The company said it had temporarily suspended its Square Enix Members service because of the potential breach.
