TRW Hit With Class Action Over Retiree Health Benefits

Law360, New York (December 16, 2011, 7:08 PM EST) -- A union and a pair of TRW Automotive Inc. retirees hit the auto parts maker with a putative class action on Thursday, accusing the company of unilaterally discontinuing retirement health benefits that workers at a Jackson, Mich., plant scored through collective bargaining.

In a complaint filed in Michigan federal court, the United Steelworkers AFL-CIO-CLC and two former TRW employees claim the company's plan to discontinue group health care plans for retirees over age 65 on Jan. 1 in favor of giving them individual health reimbursement accounts...
