Allen Helps CVC Capital Sell Taminco To Apollo For $1.4B

Law360, New York (December 16, 2011, 1:45 PM EST) -- CVC Capital Partners has sold its majority stake in Belgium-based chemical maker Taminco Group Holdings to fellow private equity firm Apollo Global Management LLC for €1.1 billion ($1.4 billion), the companies said Friday.

The sale marks an exit for CVC from a portfolio company it has held since 2007, when it bought the producer of alkylamines — widely used in the making of consumer, pharmaceutical and agricultural products — for  €800 million ($1 billion).
