Acer, Motorola, HP Hit With Patent Suits Over Tablets

Law360, New York (December 19, 2011, 8:30 PM EST) -- Hewlett-Packard Co., Motorola Solutions Inc. and Acer Inc. were hit Friday with separate lawsuits in Texas federal court from Profectus Technology LLC, who says the three companies' tablet computers infringe a Profectus digital display patent.

Profectus said in its suits that the three technology stalwarts are incorporating patented elements from Profectus' patented digital picture frame into their various tablet devices.

The patent-in-suit is U.S. Patent Number 6,975,308, titled “Digital picture display frame.”
