Duke-American Nets $3.5B Wind Power Line For 1st Outing

Law360, New York (December 19, 2011, 4:34 PM EST) -- A joint venture between Duke Energy Corp. and American Transmission Co. created this year announced its first acquisition, a $3.5 billion Wyoming wind power transmission line that would bring energy to California and the southwestern U.S., Duke said Monday.

Duke-American Transmission Co., formed in April, will continue work to design and develop the 950-mile Zephyr Power Transmission project, which it acquired from a subsidiary of Pathfinder Renewable Wind Energy LLC, Duke said in a statement. The company did not disclose the terms of the deal and was not immediately available for comment....
