Judge Refuses Honeywell's Request For New Trial

Law360, New York (July 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has denied a motion by Honeywell International Inc. to set aside a jury's verdict awarding the family of a dead teen $24 million after the family accused the company of making defective seatbelts.

In an order Thursday, Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas denied Honeywell's motion for a judgment notwithstanding the verdict and for a new trial, and said he'd issue an opinion at a later date.
