9th Circ. Remands Calif. Workers' Health Insurance Suit

Law360, New York (December 20, 2011, 1:02 PM EST) -- The Ninth Circuit on Monday returned a suit filed by retired California workers to a lower court following a ruling by the California Supreme Court that it was possible a state law bound a county to an implied health insurance contract with its employees. 

The California high court ruled in November that implied contracts may compel a California county under state law to honor its retiree health care agreements unless a statute or ordinance barred such an arrangement. The ruling was a win for the Retired...
