Whole Foods CEO's Web Posts Draw Scrutiny

Law360 (July 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Whole Foods Market Inc., which has already been sued by the Federal Trade Commission over its proposed merger with Wild Oats Markets Inc., may now be in trouble with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission thanks to anonymous postings the company's chief executive made to a Yahoo message board.

Last Tuesday, it was revealed that Whole Foods CEO John Mackey used the name “rahodeb,” an anagram of his wife Deborah, to post numerous messages over an eight-year period that praised Whole Foods and criticized Wild Oats....
