Alza, Ortho-McNeil Bid To Toss Ditropan Claims

Law360 (July 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two Johnson & Johnson subsidiaries have sought to throw out an amended class action complaint alleging that they conspired to block generic versions of bladder treatment Ditropan XL from entering the U.S. market.

Alza Corp., the drug's maker, and Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals Inc., which distributes Ditropan XL for Alza, said in court documents filed Friday that the court should dismiss the plaintiffs' second amended class action complaint with prejudice to the extent it purports to assert direct purchaser antitrust claims against Alza.
