Australia Warns Vodafone Of Fines Over Privacy Failures

Law360, New York (December 21, 2011, 5:28 PM EST) -- Australia's telecommunications regulator said Wednesday that two Vodafone Hutchison Australia Pty Ltd. companies had violated the country's telecom protections code by poorly shielding customer data from breaches, and threatened fines of up to AU$250,000 (US$252,000) for similar violations in the future.
