Sen. Grills CFTC Chief Over MF Global Collapse

Law360, New York (December 22, 2011, 12:33 PM EST) -- U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., on Wednesday hammered chief futures regulator Gary Gensler over the collapse of MF Global Inc., again questioning his relationship with the bankrupt brokerage's ex-CEO Jon Corzine and his decision to step aside during the investigation into the firm's implosion.

In a letter, Roberts asked Gensler, who heads the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, why he now feels unable to participate in the investigation when he previously felt comfortable engaging in lobbying sessions with Corzine and others from MF Global.
