Beth Israel Arbitration Spat Spills Over To Court

Law360, New York (July 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Local 1199 union of United Healthcare Workers has fired back at Beth Israel Medical Center after the New York hospital attempted to overturn an earlier arbitration ruling that awarded a group of registered nurses back pay the medical giant allegedly owed them.

On Friday, the union filed its answer and counterclaim to Beth Israel's petition to vacate the March 2007 arbitration award, asking for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to support the original ruling.
