Weis Misled Shoppers About Keurig Cartridge Contents: Suit

Law360, New York (December 22, 2011, 7:14 PM EST) -- A Maryland resident launched a putative class action in federal court Thursday accusing the maker of certain single-serving cartridges for Keurig Inc. coffee makers and grocery store Weis Markets Inc. of tricking consumers into believing that the cartridges could brew fresh coffee.

Sturm Foods Inc. and its parent company TreeHouse Foods Inc. contract with the grocer to sell, market and distribute various varieties of Weis Breakfast Hour Coffee Solos with labels indicating the products are “naturally roasted soluble and microground Arabica coffee” for use by owners...
