Rambus Strikes Semiconductor IP Deal With Broadcom

Law360, San Diego (December 23, 2011, 3:28 PM EST) -- After targeting Broadcom Corp. in California federal court and the U.S. International Trade Commission, Rambus Inc. said Thursday it signed a patent license deal with the semiconductor manufacturer that resolves outstanding patent claims between the companies.

The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company said the five-year license agreement covers the use of Rambus’ patents related to memory controllers and serial links in a wide range of Broadcom’s integrated circuit devices and ends all outstanding patent disputes, including Broadcom’s previous use of Rambus’ technology.
