Jones Day Helps SunPower Nab French Solar Co. For $165M

Law360, New York (December 23, 2011, 3:31 PM EST) -- Solar energy system manufacturer SunPower Corp. has inked a deal to acquire French solar provider Tenesol SA for $165.4 million, according to a Friday announcement.

The cash deal will give the Silicon Valley, Calif.-based SunPower, which has offices on four continents, control of Tenesol's solar panel manufacturing facilities in France and South Africa. At the same time, French parent company Total SA will increase its majority stake in SunPower to two-thirds of its common shares, according to the California company.
