EU Unlikely To Drop Telecom Market Oversight

Law360, New York (July 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Though regulators have hinted that the telecommunications industry may soon be taken off the list of most heavily regulated markets, a new European Commission report shows that this is not likely to be the case.

The annual report, released on July 12, concludes that constant EC oversight of national regulators has ensured the implementation of Commission directives and that continued monitoring will essential for effecting more changes.
