Sharp, Samsung, Others To Pay $538M To Settle LCD Case

Law360, New York (January 3, 2012, 4:32 PM EST) -- Samsung Electronics Co., Sharp Corp. and several other defendants recently agreed to pay $538 million to settle claims by a class of indirect purchasers and eight state attorneys general that they conspired to fix the prices of liquid crystal display panels.

The plaintiffs notified the court on Dec. 23 of the proposed settlement in the case, which alleges that some of the world's biggest electronics makers fixed the prices of flat-screen panels from 1999 to 2006.
