Fla. AG Wants State High Court To Rule On Robosigning

Law360, New York (January 3, 2012, 5:44 PM EST) -- Florida's attorney general on Friday sought permission to ask the state's high court if law firms' alleged participation in robosigning, a practice associated with unlawful mortgage foreclosures, is covered by Florida's deceptive and unfair trade practices laws.

The attorney general's motion came after Florida's Fourth District Court of Appeal ruled Dec. 14 that the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act doesn't give the attorney general the power to subpoena the Law Office of David J.
