Export Controls In Action: US V. Wang

Law360, New York (January 11, 2012, 12:29 PM EST) -- On Nov. 15, 2011, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security announced the guilty plea of Xun Wang in connection with export controls violations. In the guilty plea and a related administrative settlement, Wang acknowledged her role in a scheme to knowingly export, reexport and transship certain controlled high-performance epoxy coatings from the United States for the ultimate benefit of Pakistan’s nuclear industry — all without obtaining the required U.S. governmental licensure.
