Bahrain's $551M Public-Private Deal Targets Housing Pinch

Law360, New York (January 3, 2012, 3:33 PM EST) -- The government of Bahrain has launched a $551 million deal with a private developer to build more than 4,000 residential units across the country to ease a housing shortage, officials said Tuesday.

The public-private partnership agreement with real estate and infrastructure development company Naseej BSC is the first step toward fulfilling a government pledge in March to work with private developers to build 50,000 new homes over the next five years.
