Ex-Parkway Hospital CEO Cops To Bribing NY Lawmaker

Law360, New York (January 3, 2012, 6:55 PM EST) -- The former CEO of Queens, N.Y.'s defunct Parkway Hospital pled guilty Tuesday to funneling money to influential state Sen. Carl Kruger in a failed bid to keep the facility open, a quick follow-up to the senator's own guilty plea.

Robert Aquino, 54, pled guilty to a single bribery-related count, admitting that he used third parties to direct money to Kruger in a bid to reverse New York state's plan to permanently close Parkway. Despite his effort, the hospital shut down in 2008.
