Judge Puts VSE's Treasury Contract On Hold

Law360, Chicago (January 4, 2012, 6:05 PM EST) -- A U.S. Court of Federal Claims judge on Friday barred the U.S. Department of the Treasury from proceeding with a contract awarded to VSE Corp. Inc. for managing forfeited property management services, after the Treasury overrode a stay prompted by a competitor's bid protest.

Judge Susan G. Braden found that the Treasury's override of the automatic stay sparked by URS Federal Services Inc.'s bid protest before the U.S. Government Accountability office "was arbitrary, capricious and an abuse of agency discretion." The judge granted judgment to URS...
