Microsoft Settles With Gag Gift Maker Over Copied Ads

Law360, New York (January 3, 2012, 7:34 PM EST) -- Novelty gift maker Cellrderm LLC on Tuesday settled its case against Microsoft Corp. in Florida federal court alleging the computer giant’s advertising agency copied two of Cellrderm’s commercials when designing ads for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 operating system.

In an order filed in the Southern District of Florida, U.S. District Judge Ursula Ungaro granted the parties’ joint motion to dismiss the suit after mediation yielded a settlement between the parties.
