Panasonic Gets Samsung Antitrust Suit Tossed, Again

Law360, New York (January 3, 2012, 10:42 PM EST) -- For the second time, a California federal judge on Tuesday tossed Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.’s antitrust suit accusing Panasonic Corp. of using a patent licensing deal to control the market for digital memory cards used in cameras and cellphones.

U.S. District Judge Jeffrey S. White, who had already dismissed Samsung's first amended complaint in August, granted a motion by Panasonic and co-defendant SD-3C LLC to throw out Samsung’s second amended complaint alleging federal antitrust violations, patent misuse and California unfair competition claims.
