Hulu Can't Dodge Online Video Streaming IP Suit

Law360, New York (January 4, 2012, 10:24 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Wednesday rebuffed Hulu LLC’s bid to toss out a patent infringement suit brought by patent holding company Intertainer Inc. accusing the on-demand streaming service of violating its patent for streaming online videos.

U.S. District Judge Cormac J. Carney found that Intertainer had sufficiently pled its claim for patent infringement, rejecting Hulu’s argument in its October motion to dismiss that Intertainer had not claimed that Hulu had made its viewers watch the advertisements in an infringing manner, arguing that Intertainer should have...
